Day 1  Australia / Shanghai / Dalian
Depart Australia to Dalian via Shanghai. Upon arrival you are met and transferred to your hotel for two nights.
 
Day 2 DalianMeal: B/L/D
Today’s city tour in Dalian includes Binhai seaside Road, 100-year city statues, Tiger Beach Scenic Area, North Bridge and the city squares. After a seafood hot pot dinner, you visit the largest light square in China - Xinhai Square to enjoy the night view of Dalian city.
 
Day 3 Dalian / Shenyang Meal: B/L/SD
This morning you take a bus/train ride to Shenyang. In the afternoon you visit the former residence of Marshall Zhang Xueliang. Dinner will be a Shenyang specialty - Lao Bian Dumplings.
 
Day 4 Shenyang / ChangchunMeal: B/L/D
After breakfast, you visit the Shenyang Imperial Palace - this palace contains a huge collection of relics from the Qing Dynasty, then continue to visit the tombs of Emperor Huangtaiji and Empress Xiaoduan. This afternoon, you travel to Changchun by coach (4 hours driving – Shenyang / Changchun) or train depending on weather.
 
Day 5 Changchun / JilinMeal: B/L/D
This morning, you visit Manchuria Palace where the Last Emperor Puyi used to be the puppet emperor. Our next stop is to the Changchun Film Studio, which is one of the three biggest film studios in China. This afternoon you board a coach to Jilin (2 hours driving), which is situated in a scenic zone shrouded by glimmering silver capped mountains and emerald lakes. We will also show you around the Zhuqueshan Ski Resort. Tonight’s dinner will be a Jilin Specialty—“Three Bowls”.
 
Day 6 Jilin / Songhua Lake Ski Resort Meal: B/L/D
The banks of Songhua River offer a spectacular wonderland scene during the winter months when the branches of pine and willow trees are covered in needle like hoarfrost. Firstly you visit the Songhua River and you may have chance to see the Rime on the trees, then onto a Korean Village where you get an understanding of the Korean minority’s culture. After lunch, you travel north to Harbin. Harbin is an enchanting city with natural beauty.
 
Day 7 Jilin / HarbinMeal: B/L/SD
This morning you go to the Songhua River to see the local people skating or swimming in the river, then you can stroll along the main pedestrian mall, with its many Russian and Western style buildings. You also get to visit the Ice & Snow World where you can see lots of Sculptures made from snow. This evening, you visit Zhaolin Park where every year the ice and snow festival is held. When night falls, the whole park turns into a world of ice consisting of giant-sized sculptures which are made all the more beautiful by neon lights. Dinner is a Harbin specialty - “Flying Dragon” Banquet.
 
Day 8 Harbin / ShanghaiMeal: B/L
This morning you visit a Russian style Sophia Church, then onto the Russian Store, where you can find Russian gifts from the Russian trade man. This evening you fly to Shanghai (dinner onboard flight), then you are met and transferred to your hotel.
 
Day 9 Shanghai / AustraliaMeal: B
Today is at leisure. A late check-out till 6pm, then your tour guide will accompany you on the Shanghai Maglev, the fastest train in the world, to the airport for your flight back to Australia.
 
Day 10 Australia
Arrive in Australia in the morning.

  • This is a guaranteed departure tour. All prices above include airport taxes and fuel surcharges.

  • Flying with China Eastern only: Extra $200 pp apply for those departing from Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide for domestic connecting flights; not available for departing from Perth.
  • Land only price: Tour starts from Arrival transfer in Dalian to Departure transfer in Shanghai, including domestic air tickets & taxes but excluding any international air tickets.
  • Extra single entry China Visa of $40 + Service fee of $38.50 for Australian passport holder(s), other passport holder(s) surcharge apply. (From 1 December 2009, Chinese Consulate sourced out its visa service to China Visa Application Centre, a service fee of $38.50 applies to each applicant. So you need to pay both Visa fee and service fee.)
  • Business class upgrading surcharge for international flights Sydney/Dalian; Shanghai/Sydney: MU $3500
  • Stopover in Hong Kong can be arranged if flying with Qantas at additional cost of $100 pp, plus any land cost if requested.
  • Those flying with Qantas will need to re-check in China domestic from Shanghai to Dalian.
