Highlights of the Stopover City:

Hong Kong: Modern and westernized and yet still quintessentially Chinese, Hong Kong is a busy, efficient city. Pockets of serenity provide calm in the middle of the city, such as amongst the pavilions and ponds of Kowloon Walled City Park and at Man Mo Temple, one of the eldest in Hong Kong. Enjoy the fantastic city views from Victoria Peak, ride the star ferry or indulge in some excellent and cheap shopping - the choices are extensive and varied in this dynamic city. Hong Kong Ocean Park and newly open Disney Land are also amongst the highlights.

Singapore: There's more to Singapore than its reputation as a clean and efficient modern city - from the rich colonial heritage still seen throughout, such as at the magnificent Raffles Hotel, to the vibrant temples and blaring Bollywood music of Little India. Recover from your flight in the beautiful Botanic Gardens, spot leopards and tigers on the Night Safari and learn more about the region's fascinating culture at the Asian Civilizations Museum. The ultimate experience in Singapore is in its food, best experienced at one of the many night hawker stalls, such as at the Satay Club on Clarke Quay.

Bangkok: Delve into the steamy modern metropolis of Bangkok and you will find a city that is still rich with tradition and culture. This contradiction is what makes Bangkok so intriguing to visitors, and is seen throughout the city - from the Westernized shopping centres to the vendors selling snake blood in busy Lumphini Park. Highlights include visiting the beautiful Vimanmek Teak Mansion, traveling by river taxi and indulging in a traditional massage.

Kuala Lumpur: More than any other spot in the country, Kuala Lumpur, or "KL" as it is commonly known, is the focal point of new Malaysia. While the city's past is still present in the evocative British colonial buildings of the Databank Merdeka and the midnight lamps of the Petaling Street night-market, that past is everywhere met with insistent reminders of KL's present and future. The city's bustling streets, its shining, modern office towers, and its cosmopolitan air project an unbounded spirit of progress and symbolize Malaysia's unhesitating leap into the future. In many ways KL marks the continuation rather than the loss of Malaysia's rich past. Like Malacca five hundred years before, KL's commercial centre is a grand meeting place for merchants and travelers from all over the world.
